your laughter saves me again
when at times i ponder
this cascade of inscrutable innocence
that we call the world
determined to know reasons,
absently crossing to no-mans-land
where the music fades away,
you zap me right out
with laughter in its finest disguise
like a new lover from a faraway place
who knows so well
what to do with my soul
